Nova Scotia teen dies after dog attack

A Grade 8 student from Shelburne County died after being attacked by three dogs on Jan. 3, and RCMP say the investigation is ongoing.

A young Grade 8 student from Shelburne County has died after a dog attack, school officials and police reported. The Tri-County Regional Centre for Education confirmed the student attended Shelburne Regional High School and expressed sympathy for the family and community. RCMP said first responders were called just after 5 p.m. on Jan. 3 to a property on Upper Sandy Cove Road in Welshtown. Police reported the youth was attacked by three large-breed dogs, was flown to hospital in Halifax, and later died.
