Judith Rosella Liske, née Torgerson, died peacefully on January 8, 2026, shortly before her 80th birthday. She was born in Vancouver on January 14, 1946, and grew up in Drayton Valley, Alberta. She trained in secretarial work and served as a parish worker at the Lutheran Church for the Deaf in Edmonton, where she met and married Colin Liske in April 1968. She later worked at McGill University, completed a B.A. in Canadian Studies and a teaching certificate, and taught in Quebec before returning to British Columbia in 1977.
