Oceanside Special Olympics will run a Tim Hortons donut sale in Parksville from Jan. 30 to Feb. 1 to raise funds for local sports and activities. Athletes, coaches and parents will staff the event at the Parksville Tim Hortons and will be available each day between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Last year the group raised $4,987.80, sold 2,022 donuts and finished second in Canada for funds raised. The fundraiser supports more than 15 local sports programs for people with physical and intellectual challenges.
