Authorities said the shooter, identified by RCMP as 18-year-old Jesse Van Rootselaar, died by a self-inflicted gunshot and is believed to have acted alone. Premier David Eby and federal and local officials visited the northern B.C. town and attended a vigil with community members. Local leaders said mental health supports and counsellors were being provided for families, students and staff.
