Publisher Bethesda has revealed a wide range of updates coming to The Elder Scrolls Online this year. Most of the announced content will be free for all players. The game moved away from yearly expansions in 2025 and is now using a seasonal model to deliver updates at a less rigid pace. The developer says the year’s schedule will include experimental content, story releases, and quality-of-life improvements.
Key details:
- Night Market, the game’s first event zone, is set to open on April 29; it is a limited-time PvE area set in Fargrave with new mechanics and difficulty options.
- The Night Market will let players join one of three competing factions and includes rewards such as a large new house that features an in-built bank.
- Season One (summer) will add story quests tied to the Thieves Guild and a separate set focusing on Sheogorath, the mad god.
- Season Two (late year) will introduce solo versions of the Moon Hunter Keen and March of Sacrifices dungeons with their own difficulty options and a possible dedicated story-focused setting.
- Combat and visual updates are scheduled through the year: Dragonknight and two-handed visuals in March, Werewolf models and balance in June, Warden updates in September, and Sorcerer updates in November.
- Quality-of-life changes include free UI-based respec for skills and attributes, account-wide outfit slots, higher furnishing limits (with larger increases for ESO+ members), faster mount training, and several premium game packs being made available to all players, with Greymoor slated for later in the year.
Summary:
These announcements broaden free access to new zones, narrative content, solo play options, and multiple quality-of-life improvements. The Night Market launch is scheduled for April 29, and additional seasonal releases and updates are planned throughout the year.
