Kia used the 2026 Brussels Motor Show to reveal three new GT-branded electric models: the EV3 GT, EV4 GT and EV5 GT. The announcement extends the GT badge across compact, mid-size and family-focused electric cars. Each model combines upgraded hardware with software-led features intended to increase driver engagement while keeping everyday usability. Kia said production is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2026 and the cars are expected in the UK by the end of the year.
Key details:
- The EV3 GT and EV4 GT share a common technical package on the E-GMP platform, with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system producing a combined 288bhp and an 81.4kWh battery.
- Both smaller GT models feature electronically controlled suspension with GT-specific tuning, a dedicated GT drive mode, Virtual Gear Shift and active sound design, and ride on 20-inch alloy wheels.
- Performance figures reported: EV3 GT 0-62mph in 5.7 seconds and EV4 GT about 0.1s quicker; both support DC fast charging claimed to reach 10-80% in around 31 minutes.
- The EV5 GT is a larger mid-size SUV also on E-GMP, fitted with a more powerful dual-motor setup producing 301bhp, a road preview system for chassis adaptation, 20-inch Michelin Pilot Sport 4 SUV tyres, and a 0-62mph time of 6.2 seconds.
- Kia noted the GT badge dates back to 2013 and has since appeared on models including the EV6 GT and EV9 GT; the EV6 GT was named World Performance Car of the Year in 2023.
Summary:
The three new GT variants broaden Kia's performance-focused electric range across compact, sporty and mid-size SUV segments while adding both hardware and software refinements intended to sharpen handling and driver interaction. Production is planned to start in Q2 2026, UK arrival is expected at the end of 2026, and pricing details are to be announced.
