Brooks Koepka is returning to the PGA Tour five weeks after leaving LIV Golf under a one-time Returning Member Program. The agreement includes a $5 million charity donation to be decided jointly with the tour and several eligibility limits. Koepka will be exempt through 2028 based on his 2023 PGA Championship win but will face restrictions on equity, bonuses and signature-event access. The tour board approved the program and said it is a one-time window for recent major or Players champions.
Key details:
- Koepka plans to play the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines at the end of the month.
- He agreed to a $5 million out-of-pocket donation to charity as part of the Returning Member Program.
- Under the program he will not be eligible for PGA Tour equity grants for five years, will not receive FedEx Cup bonus money in 2026, and cannot get sponsor exemptions to $20m signature events unless he qualifies.
- The program applies only to players who won majors or The Players Championship from 2022–2025; other eligible LIV players have three weeks to decide.
Summary:
Koepka is back on the PGA Tour roster but with defined financial and playing restrictions that the tour says protect current members. He is scheduled to play at Torrey Pines later this month, and other eligible players have a short decision window on whether to accept the same terms.
