Mark Starr Cutter Classic to honor late Bedford Middle School coach on Jan. 24

The fourth annual Mark Starr Cutter Classic will be held Jan. 24 at Bedford Middle School to honor the late coach Mark Starr and raise funds for a scholarship; games run about 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. with $10 adult and $5 student admission.

The fourth annual Mark Starr Cutter Classic will take place Saturday, Jan. 24, in the Quarry Gymnasium at Bedford Middle School. The event features eighth-grade boys' and girls' basketball teams from the region and will run from about 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. All proceeds will support a scholarship given in memory of Mark Starr, a longtime Bedford Middle School coach and teacher who passed away in 2021. A silent auction will run inside the gym during the day; the auction was introduced last year.
