Ryde Fire Station to open doors for community open day in April

Ryde Fire Station will host a community open day on Saturday 4 April from 10:00 to 16:00 with live demonstrations, activities for all ages and visits from other emergency services.

Ryde Fire Station will open its doors for a community open day on Saturday 4 April. Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service is hosting the event and plans a programme of live demonstrations. The event is intended to show the variety of emergency response work carried out across the Isle of Wight. The station will be open between 10:00 and 16:00. Event details: - Live demonstrations including rescues from height and use of the service's smoke house to show how crews deal with fires and other emergencies. - Displays of specialist equipment used in a range of incidents. - Other emergency services scheduled to attend, with representatives from the Police, Ambulance Service and Inland Search and Rescue. - Activities aimed at all ages, including a children’s hose activity on a mock house and opportunities to meet on-duty crew members. - On-site catering with sweets for children and food options for adults, plus a raffle offering prizes.
