A new strategic plan called Shankill: A Plan to Grow has been launched to support revitalisation and growth in the Greater Shankill area of Belfast. The report follows extensive collaboration between local residents, community groups and statutory agencies, including the Department for Communities, Belfast City Council and the Northern Ireland Housing Executive. The Ministerial Advisory Group Living High Streets Craft Kit was used as a co-design resource so the community helped shape the physical environment. Implementation will be driven by a Local Action Group led by members of BUILD (Better Understanding in Local Development).
