Deputies say the teen told detectives she had been living alone at her mobile home since about February and had not seen her mother and stepfather since Oct. 31. Officers say they executed a search warrant at the residence and found multiple dogs; one dog was found deceased and other animals were removed by animal control. The girl's mother and stepfather were arrested and charged with child abuse and animal cruelty and were taken to the county jail.
