St. Mary's County is under a Cold Weather Advisory through January 28, 2026. In response to the forecast of extreme cold, the county announced that warming centers will be available to the public from January 27 through January 30, 2026. Centers are housed in public facilities such as libraries, senior activity centers, and community centers. Listed hours reflect normal business schedules and may change if county administrative offices close.
Warming centers and hours:
- Charlotte Hall Library (37600 New Market Road, Charlotte Hall): Mon–Thu 9 a.m.–8 p.m.; Fri–Sat 9 a.m.–5 p.m.
- Garvey Senior Activity Center (23630 Hayden Farm Lane, Leonardtown): Mon–Thu 8 a.m.–8 p.m.; Fri 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
- Leonardtown Library (23630 Hayden Farm Lane, Leonardtown): Mon–Thu 9 a.m.–8 p.m.; Fri–Sat 9 a.m.–5 p.m.
- Lexington Park Library (21677 FDR Blvd., Lexington Park): Mon–Thu 9 a.m.–8 p.m.; Fri–Sat 9 a.m.–5 p.m.; Sun 1 p.m.–5 p.m.
- Additional public locations with listed hours include Loffler Senior Activity Center, Northern Senior Activity Center, St. Mary's Caring Soup Kitchen, and Three Oaks Center.
